SEO fundamentals

There are some fundamental but important elements to consider when we are thinking about implementing SEO. If you want to rank your website, you need to know about the important SEO Elements. We have to follow the basic practices. In this writing I will introduce you to the basic SEO elements. This writing is not actually how to do all the stuffs on SEO rather I tried to introduce you with the basic elements so that you understand these and follow the basic practice.

Therefore, the first one is BACKLINK, which is one of the most essential elements for SEO. Now you must be thinking

What is backlink?

Backlink is simply when a website is linked with a link to any other website. When you click on the link, it takes you to another website/article etc. Therefore, we can easily say that- the link that takes us to any other website is a backlink.

The following figure shows that Website A (Other Website) has placed a link in his website, which ultimately takes us to Website B (Your Website). This is actually the backlink of WEBSITE B (Your Website).

So, Why backlinks matters?

In 2016, Andrey Lipattsev a Senior Strategist from Google  was interviewed, conducted by Search Engine Land . He stated that content and links were the two top ranking factors.

The other one is RankBrain which is the third most important ranking signal according to Google. You can find the details on RankBrain here.

Remember, you have to build your backlinks with quality sites/content.  Let us say you have a website and you build website with Elementor Page Builder. Moreover, you are creating links from other niches  similar to Elementor. It will not work, If you link something like building website with Joomla Tips and Tricks.  In fact the competitors won’t allow your writings in their sites if it doesn’t close to their niches.

Google finds the new pages through these backlinks using a search engine bot name Google Spider also known as web crawler. Google spider first crawl the pages then indexed the pages in the server.

Therefore, backlinks help to drive traffic to your website.

LSI- Latent Semantic Indexing

Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a method for finding the actual meaning of your data/word/words/search query/documents.

For example, when a word “bank” used with loan, deposit, interest, rates then it perhaps means a financial organization but when this word used with fish, water, then it perhaps means a riverbank. So what LSI does here in this example  is mapping from words to concepts.

You will also find a section called “Search Related to” if you scroll down to bottom.

Have a look at the screenshots.

LSI Keyword Generator

There is a free tool available to generate the LSI keywords. The name is   LSI Graph or LSI Keyword Generator. You can generate your desired keywords with this tool.

Ubersuggest is also another amazing free tool to identify the LSI Keywords. Simply put your words and hit enter. It will then show you the keywords ideas- Words that people type in google, Trend-Search volume of the keyword, Volume-The number of searches on this particular keyword, CPC-Cost Per Click, PD-Paid Difficulty, SD-SEO Difficulty. I suggest you to try this free tool for your keyword identification.

Brian Dean listed three factors on top in his Google’s 200 Ranking Factors: The Complete List (2019) LSI Keywords in Title and Description Tags Latent Semantic Indexing Keywords in Content (LSI) Page Covers Topic In-Depth Therefore, LSI is also important for SEO.

Voice Search Optimization

Time to think about voice search optimization. It is happening faster than you think. Are you comfortable with typing or comfortable with saying Hey Google “find me the best restaurant in the city”? Well, I would go for the voice. Let us look at the stats to cover my point.

Current statistics show that 41% of adults use voice search at least once per day. By 2020, 50% of all searches across the internet will be voice-based. By 2020, 30% of all searches will be done using a device without a screen. 20% of the searches on a mobile device are voice-based. 25% of the queries on Android devices are voice-based. 60% of smartphone users had tried voice search at least once in the past 12 months. 55% of teenagers are using voice search daily basis.

More than 20% of voice search queries are triggered by a combination of only 25 keywords.

Final Thoughts

Apart from the above mentioned, we should look for the answer of one question.

What is the most important ranking factor for your website?

Well, obviously Good content.  Content is the king. You are nothing without quality content. So write good content, use natural (Not Complicated) language. Remember it is all about the quality of your content.
